What dental code is D4211?
D4211 is the dental code for the surgical removal of excess gums (i.e. gingival enlargements). This is done to eliminate suprabony pockets, or to allow access for restorative dentistry when suprabony pockets are present. This code is for 1-3 continguous teeth. The code is officially known as “gingivectomy or gingivoplasty – one to three contiguous teeth or tooth bounded spaces per quadrant.”
